We take the privacy of personal data very seriously. We handle your personal data with care. All information provided by course participants and/or students and/or customers is confidential to the Improvisation Academy and its staff. The Improvisation Academy will not sell and/or pass on your personal data to third parties. By using this site you agree to our privacy policy.

Which data do we collect?

If you order a book or CD via this site, or download my free e-book '10 improvisation tips', or take a course / workshop / training programme / private lesson with us, you will be asked to fill in some personal data. We only process the data that you provide to us yourself. This may include the following data:

  • first and last name
  • email address
  • telephone number
  • street and house number
  • postal code and town
  • bank account number

For what purpose do we use the personal data?

Your data is collected and stored for the following purposes:

  • We use your first and last name, street and house number, and postal code and town to send you the book or CD you ordered.
  • We use your telephone number and email address to communicate with you if something goes wrong with your order, if there are any uncertainties about your order, or when we want to communicate with you about your course / workshop / training programme / private lesson.
  • We may also use your email address to send you an 'ImpRobijn' a few times a year. An ImpRobijn is an email containing a video or audio recording of an improvisation played by me, accompanied by a friendly text that you can learn something from, or perhaps simply enjoy. The email may also contain information about the Improvisation Academy. You can unsubscribe from the ImpRobijn at any time via a link at the bottom of the email, or by contacting me.
  • Your bank account number becomes known to us when you have bought a product or service from us and have transferred money for it from your own bank account to ours. We use this data to see whether you have already paid, and whether you may have paid too much or too little.
  • Bank account numbers and email addresses are also stored on the servers of the bank and email providers respectively.

Your personal data on our computer

Your personal data is stored encrypted (by an SSL certificate) on the computer(s) of the Improvisation Academy and at a backup location. The data is kept until you, as a customer, indicate that you want it deleted.

Your rights

You always have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your data, after which we will no longer process your data.

You also have the right to access your personal data and the right to rectify it. If you want to know which personal data we process about you, you can submit a written access request by post or by email.

Should your data be incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant, you can ask us in writing, by post or by email, to change or supplement your data. You also have the right to have your personal data erased. For this too you can submit a written request, by post or by email.

Changes

We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time. The most recently published version always applies.
